The old saying goes bacon makes everything better and I usually could not agree more
but this may be the exception to the rule. I could probably eat this and like it more than I can its cousin - Kalamata Olive Chocolate. I found both of these when I was exploring in Whole Foods. Actualy I am sure it is really good and I like to see a store serving such a diverse set of options to their customers. I am sure they do not sell hundreds of these candy bars a day, like perhaps a Snickers may sell. But they are offering something very unique which only enhances the stores appeal.
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Or in my case, the neighbors yard. This picture is off the property line. We were in a drought and had not gotten rain in 22 plus days. My lawn is crispy. I walked in the back yard to fill the bird feeders and my footsteps broke the grass. I have done everything to improve the lawn like my neighbors but it comes down to the fact that I have no decent top soil and the ground is sandy.
The only way to correct this is bring in a ton of dirt and replant the whole yard. That will not happen this year.
I look out my kitchen window tonight to see a cute little chipmunk he was eating bird seed that had fallen from the feeder. Next thing I know I look up and he was on the feeder ! I missed it but he climed up the pole and slid down the curve to the tray. Had I known I would have gotten some chipmunk food.
One month ago today I left my job at a good company. I had been there 12+ years. The company was a very entrepreneurial place to work. Recently the organization was acquired and the overall atmosphere changed. It seemed like the a good time to make a change.
I find myself in an odd place. In fact many people think I was crazy for leaving. Now I am on "sabbatical" with a lot to do and nothing to do at the same time. I have lots of projects lined up, some consulting, a giant stack of reading and a ton of ideas.
When you do not have time you are always rushing to get things done and check things off your list. When you have time, focusing is a lot harder to do than you would expect.
I am working on clearing the landscape from a house that has not had any attention
in the last 25 years. We are trying to save all we can but there is so much brush and bittersweet vine
it is really difficult. As we are clearing this brush I am thinking this could be a new game show like
Survivor perhaps?
I was thinking about Extreme Beaver Dam Makeovers or Monster Landscaping. What do you think?
This pile is at least 12 foot high and 30 foot around.
Work, life and other interests have kept me from posting here very often. I am debating about moving this blog to Blogger but I really like typepad ! Anyway I am going to get back to it. Concentrating on the same topics but at the same time adding new ones. I will be playing with the look some more while I choose the final destination but expect to see more Eco realted topics as well.
