Austin and I have a magazine addiction. I just finished going through all my magazines and realized I have a problem. The first group are magazines that a get a subscription to. The second are the ones that I buy almost every month but have not gone that extra distance to save myself some money and commit to a subscription.
Do your reading habits say anything about your personality ? Do I read so many because I have short attention span?
Last week I downloaded the newest podcast from Church of the Customer. Ben and & Jackie were doing a follow-up piece on Citizen Marketing and they reviewed the new Southwest application called Ding! Last week after the podcast I emailed Jackie to see if they offered any Customer Evangelism "brag tag" items, like t-shirts or hats. Several people I have recommended the book to or purchased it for have asked me the same question . They were looking for t-shirts like the ones Tom Peters sells. So while I am listening I hear Jackie mention my name and email on the show. It was very odd and cool at the same time. I went back to the notes that outline the podcast and they were kind enough to link back to my site. So I have now had my 15 minutes of fame!
The majority of bloggers I have been reading lately happen to be based on the west coast or overseas. So it was a happy accident when I found Halley's Comment. She is a Boston based writer/blogger. I started reading the site and enjoyed Halley's writing profession and casual writing style.
One of the other sources that Halley contributes to is a magazine called Worthwhile. When I saw the tag line that went with the magazine I had to get a copy. The tag is "Work with Purpose, Passion and Profit." I immediately went down to my local Barnes & Nobles and picked a copy up. This is a terrific magazine.
All of the articles revolve around how people were able to find that passion to inspire them in their jobs or in some cases to create create new jobs. If you are looking for a way to refocus your energy or to motivate you
read this magazine. This is the premier issue. If the second issue is as good, I will be a long time subscriber.
